It Really is a Wonderful Life…
“Strange, isn’t it? Each man’s life touches so many other lives. When he isn’t around he leaves an awful hole, doesn’t he?”
Clarence the angel said these words to George Baily in Frank Capra’s 1946 movie, It’s a Wonderful Life. If you are unfamiliar with the movie, George Bailey was having a tough time and wished he had never been born. As George was going through this, many of those he had touched in some way and knew he was in trouble were praying for him, which is how Clarence entered the scene. Luckily, Clarence was able to show George how much he influenced everyone around him and just how wonderful his life really is. As you can guess, it all worked out in the end, with George cherishing his life and everyone who prayed for him coming to his aid. Clarence’s parting words were, “Remember, George: no man is a failure who has friends.”
If you are like us, we reflect upon our own lives and want to do more when something like this movie reminds us how precious life and those around us really are.
As such, we hope you feel the same and will join us in making a difference for the thousands of trafficked children who do not have a voice. Children abducted and sold into the sex trafficking industry, along with their devastated families, likely feel they have no one to help them. We are not the ultimate answer, but we can certainly do our part to locate, rescue, and return these children to their homes and allow them and their families to live a normal life again. We can ALL do our part in spreading the word about this atrocity so that we may prevent the abductions and stop child trafficking at the source.
Like our beloved George Bailey from the movie, our collective influence may not be visible at first, but can be immense. We never know just how many people hear and understand our message, but if it prevents just one child from being abducted, it was worth it. As you can imagine, the number we can reach together with your voice can be nearly infinite.
It is never too late to begin, so why wait? As well as being the first day of a new year, today also marks the beginning of Human Trafficking Awareness Month. Let your resolution be to join us in making a difference today.
We at Phantom Rescue wish each of you a happy and prosperous new year.
