One great thing with social media is the ability to see stories about things you normally would never see. Recently, I watched a video of a preacher at dinner with his family who gave their young waiter a $300 tip because he felt God had told him this young man needed his help. Of course, the young man was grateful and overwhelmed. He had fallen on hard times and needed money to repair his car and keep his job while still managing to pay rent and put food on the table. It was a touching moment to say the least.
As I watched this video, I felt the strong desire to do more to help my fellow man. I have been very blessed in this life and want to help others, because I also know what it is like to need and not have. I suppose that is a natural reaction for which we should all be grateful, because the power of the human spirit can and has moved mountains.
This same human spirit is why we at Phantom Rescue and other groups across the globe strive to make a difference in the fight against Human and Child Trafficking. We are not saints. We are not special. We are simply human beings who want to protect those that are weak, stand up for those who cannot stand up for themselves, and speak for those who do not have a voice.
Too many in this world have seen their lives stolen and ruined by another. You might not think you see them, but they are there, among you, in the shadows, and even in the light. They are there, silently wishing someone would know what is happening to them, hopeful that someone will stand up for them and pull them out of their nightmare so that they might truly live again. They just need someone, anyone, to lend a helping hand.
We hope you will join your voice to the fight today by spreading awareness with everyone you know and everyone you meet.
However, we are asking you to make a commitment to join your voice and your energy to fighting this atrocity EVERY DAY, not just today. These victims need us to remember and fight EVERY SINGLE DAY, because for them, the nightmare does not end until someone brings them home.
Join us in this fight today, and stay with us through the end. Together, we can stop the abductions and defeat this scourge on our society.
